How is it possible that you can be affected by the death of someone you didn't know?
How you feel the pain and anguish of his loss, and the despair and loneliness in you heart?
I feel the tears swell in my eyes, the lump in my throat, all for Owen.
For the years I sat and watched him and his family, and the integrity they showed.
And the honor and respect he is shown now after his departure,
Shows his true character as not only as a performer, but a human being.

I never knew Owen, only watched him from my television and occasional house shows.
But I knew his life story, his family roots.
I use the Hart's as an example to raise my kids, keeping family values.
Owen had that with his wife and children, because he always had in it in the Hart's home.
Even in the dungeon.
He was an example for every man to live by, 
And aspire to be.
As I did for many, many years.

To Owen, I say, good bye my friend.
From your fans everywhere, you will be sorely missed and the void will never be filled.
You were "The Rocket", "The Blazer", but most important of all, 
"The King of Harts."
We will miss you.

To the Hart family I express the words I heard at a funeral many years ago.
"God didn't take anything away from us, that wasn't His in the first place." 
We were just lucky enough to have had Owen for as long as we did.
